This is a phrase that will accompany us in many areas of our daily lives, although if you are on holiday or simply want to take a day trip with your family or friends time is short. That’s why from Route Active we won’t let you get lost, but we will help you to find yourself in this journey through the paths of Los Realejos.
Rambla de Castro
As our mission is to make sure you don’t get lost, our first route, apart from being of moderate difficulty, is just 200 meters from our hotel. The famous route of the Rambla de Castro
Located in the north of the island, it is a route close to the town and frequented by a large number of people every day. We can enter this route from various points that will make our journey longer or shorter, depending on our needs or tastes. One of the peculiarities of it, is that it connects the municipality of Los Realejos with Puerto de la Cruz which makes your visit more interesting.
Composed in turn by some impressive views, we can find during the tour the pumping station of the Gordejuela or also known as the house of the Water; the beach of Los Roques; or even roads that connect places like the beach of the Socorro and Fajana.
The house of the Gordejuela is the favorite landscape for those who wander around the area since it has a peculiar aesthetic. Some might say that it is a place with a disastrous visual impact on the environment and others simply identify it as an iconic and representative place of the early 20th century in the area of Los Realejos.
Chanajiga
Secondly, there is the Chanajiga path, which is also in the area of Lo Realejos but you have to go a little further than the one in the Rambla de Castro. This route is a little less accessible than the previous one, but you can enjoy it in the same way. This we say to you, nothing more and nothing less, because the entrance to the footpath counts on a peculiarity and is that they are practically two kilometers that it has to transit by means of steps, which supposes an impressive physical wearing down.
In turn, this trail has recreational areas and even water galleries that will make your experience a pleasant one.
Route 040
If your expectations were to exceed yourself, this route is for you. One of the most sacrificed of our island and that starts from our famous Socorro beach. This is known as the path with the greatest difference in level in Spain, since it starts at 0 metres above sea level and ends at 3,718 metres, that is, at the peak of Mount Teide! Its total distance is as impressive as its goal, 27,700 metres of hard road will stand in the way of your dreams.
This feat has been achieved by very few due to the demands of this event. The so-called “altitude sickness” has been a determining factor in many of the cases of failure of such trails in Los Realejos.
